These are the historical gates of the Old Town of Zuoying. The staircases were built with stacks of stones. They are beautiful!

This is the brick wall of the watchtower, which is built atop the gate. The hole in the middle was used to fire a gun when enemies approached.

There used to be a river here. The water had dried out. It was the river that used to protect the town and therefore it was named "Town Protection River".

This is the pathway that leads all the way to the other end of the town. Along the pathway, there are tall trees and green grass. The pathway and the greens make a perfect combination.

Looking out from the inside of the East Gate, you only see cars around.

This is the South Gate. South Gate is different from the other gates. It is located in the middle of a busy traffic roundabout and it has two floors.

This is a Chinese landscape painting hung on the second floor of the South Gate.

This is a park lawn within the East Gate. You could still see the remaining walls of the gate. The grass and the flowers are the beautiful festoons of the walls.

The gate has a special look during nighttime. The lights sets off the deep blue sky and create a wonderful night view.

This is a different night view of the gate. The sun has just set and there are slightly orange lights in the sky. The color of the sky and lightings create a life-like atmosphere.
